HBO NOW is a stand-alone streaming platform that lets you watch HBO online without requiring a satellite or cable TV subscription. It's perfect for cord-cutters and binge-watchers because it means you can watch groundbreaking HBO series like The Sopranos or The Wire without having to invest in a full TV plan. HBO NOW costs $14.99 per month. The incremental cost of the $12-$20 fee per month is really not my problem with how much an HBO subscription costs, I would gladly pay $25-$30 per month for HBO. With my cable company (and I assume all others) HBO is not really available al a carte. • HBO, of course, is HBO: the nearly 50-year-old pay service that you could only get via cable or satellite until about ten years ago. • HBO Go is the streaming, on-demand version of HBO, but HBO Max will cost $14.99, and is a free upgrade to HBO Now subscribers.
