The INTERNET itself is nothing more than information sharing form computer systems, and has been taken over by So called Providers to access it. I am well able to pay for the connection, my question is What exactly is used by ISP's to get their main connection that they sell to consumers .
No, it is not possible to access the Internet without going through an ISP at some point. Now, whether you go through someone's router and modem, or you use the data portion of your smartphone's service, you're still going through an ISP (technically) to get connected.
The internet is big, and AT&T, comcast and others all provide the exact same content which leads me to beleive there is an underlieing principle of net neutrality and free information access
